Sand Rail Suspension Setup
I have had the car (more
pictures and info) out a few times, and haven't played around with shock
adjustment. We have dual bypass front and rear, so there can be some adjustment.
The car is a bit rough through the whoops and I think that I
could use a bit more help on g-outs for the front end.
I read on GlamisDunes.com
that Justin from Revenge Racing was going to be out at Gordon's Well after
Christmas and decided to see if he could add me to his suspension tuning
schedule. Justin had an opening and we are setup for December 27th. I will
post pictures and info after the trip.
Suspension Setup - Gordon's Well
I met up with Justin from Revenge at Gordon's Well. I was thoroughly
impressed. He was on time, and we went right to work.
The plan was to tackle tuning for the whoops first, then take it out into
the dunes and fine tune. Justin had his brother ride with me, and we set out
for the whoops along the canal. Justin rode in one his his cars next to
us so he could observe the car. After a quick section of whoops we
stopped and he adjusted the shocks, and we tried it again.
Unfortunately, Justin quickly determined that the bypass shocks on my car
could not be adjusted far enough and had to be re-valved. He said that I could
send him the shocks and get it done, or he could work with whoever I wanted.
Since I was heading to Southern California the next week, I decided to see
what King Shocks could do. I contacted Justin, and he contacted King. I
dropped the rear shocks off one morning, and picked them up the next morning.
I really appreciated Justin's willingness to help out, and King Shocks did a
great job fitting me in on such short notice.
Conclusion: I would highly recommend contacting Revenge Racing for a
suspension tune-up. Even if you don't own one of their cars, they are willing
to do the work in the dunes. If you do own a car from Revenge, you won't have
to worry about this at all. Justin was at Gordon's Well primarily to
deliver one of his new cars, and get it all dialed in.
