It seems like the popularity of the Honda ATC 70 has yet to fade.  Over the years they were purchased for the younger generation to learn to ride and has grown into more of an addiction for the older crowd, those who remember owning them as kids.

For the last three seasons Dumont Dune Riders has been hosting their annual ATC70 Regatta and the number of spectators and participants continues to grow with each new year.  This years Regatta was no different, with the schedule jam packed full of multiple events that would last throughout the day.  With the increase in popularity of these bikes and the need to make them bigger, faster and nicer, several different categories had to be created to meet the multiple level of racers that attended this event

To kick off the day, an open track pre-run kicked off the day.  Nothing says start your engines more than a few laps around the track, knocking handle bars with fellow contestants on these little bikes. The crowds circled the track to watch the different classes of bikes, from the stock 2hp motor, to the 88cc motor, all the way up to the 192cc motor compete in a head to head competition.  Next came the drag races with 2 contestants going head to head until the final winner was crowned by process of elimination. The day wound down with the annual Show & Shine and final raffle.

The list of raffle prizes donated to the regatta was very impressive. In a separate raffle for owners with a stock 70 motor, a complete 125cc motor kit and install was donated by Sterdy Products.  The winner, Andy Trent, was very excited, his ear to ear grin showing his appreciation.
