Sand Mountain Trip Report
June 8 - 11, 2006

Sand Mountain - Thursday Afternoon, June 8, 2006
Near perfect weather. Smooth dunes. Not many camps. Full Moon.
No BLM. What else could you ask for?

Friday morning, Bob took Jon's two seater for a spin.

A few other cars that we saw

Saturday night at the top of Sand Mountain. Sun setting, and full moon
coming up.

Hurley was the official DuneGuide.com camp dog for the weekend

Spent an hour cleaning out fire pits around our camp. The magnet on-a-stick I
bought from Home Depot works great for fishing out metal objects in the sand
& ash. Please don't bring pallets to the dunes.

These "things" were everywhere. I have been told they are Mormon
Crickets.
Mormon crickets will eat just about anything in their path,
gobbling up sagebrush, gardens, lawns and crops. They’ve also been observed
munching horse dung and won’t hesitate to eat each other.
